Cognitive Apprenticeship Model and Self-paced video

Speaker: Rina Okta, guest-Phd student from Dept. of Math. Ed., Indonesia U. of Education

Abstract:

The main goal of this research is to enhance students’ mathematical adaptive reasoning and decision making in problem solving context. The cognitive apprenticeship is an approach that will be used in this research and the video as a media for learning. Combining the approach and media is expected to enhance both students ability. The research has two main focus are (1) how to design and analyze a mathematical learning using cognitive apprenticeship and video to enhance students’ mathematical adaptive reasoning and decision making, and (2) how to determine and analyze the impact (including the effectiveness) of applying a mathematical design learning in no 1 to students’ mathematical adaptive reasoning and decision making.
