A Friendly Introduction to Differential Calculus Using Didactical Engineering

Abstract: 

According to the reform of 2017, all Danish upper secondary school students should have Mathematics B, which involves differential calculus. In this seminar, we will use Didactical Engineering (DE) to design teaching situations that introduce differential calculus based on polynomials. By using polynomials, we can postpone the difficulties the students might have in understanding the concept of limit until they become familiar with the basic ideas of differential calculus.
