Creating a community of interdisciplinary facilitators: Sharing insights and findings from a crowdsourced book on interdisciplinary practices in higher education

CoNavigator has since 2016 been used by facilitators to help participants collaborate more effectively on complex themes in research, education, public and private institutions. Until now, facilitators required training and some practice before running CoNavigator sessions themselves, meaning there were limitations in how extensively the tool could be used in each institution. Now this limitation has been addressed with CoNavigator Pro, a mobile app which helps guide facilitators through the process in real time, helping those less-experienced with the tool to confidently run a session single-handedly. It is envisaged that this will help to grow the CoNavigator community enormously and – by introducing feedback and personalisation options within the app – pool the collective knowledge of the community to continually improve CoNavigator’s steps and methodologies.

In the presentation, we will demonstrate the app and how it will give many more less-experienced facilitators the opportunity to run effective CoNavigator workshops.
