Title:

Scenarios for teaching stochastics at university

Speaker:

Andreas Eichler, U. Kassel

Abstract:

In this talk, I refer to different teaching practices for a statistics or rather stochastics (statistics and probability) curriculum at a German university. Whereas a course for BA mathematics and teacher education for upper secondary school is a traditional script oriented course based on a chalk and blackboard lecture, courses in a teacher programme for lower secondary is based on a flipped-classroom scenario with a strong orientation to first hand data and digital tools. In addition, elements for teaching stochastic to science students (biology) and students of medicine and law will be regarded.
