Abstract:

Replication studies in mathematics education have been discussed for several decades, but they still appear only rarely in the research literature. Although their frequency remains low, recent initiatives signal that replication is gradually gaining attention in the field. This talk will introduce what replication studies are and why they matter for mathematics education research. I will highlight some of the challenges that have limited their prevalence and present recent examples. The aim is to open a conversation about how replication studies can strengthen the credibility, transferability, and practical impact of research in mathematics education.
