  For a given set of educational research case studies, the analysis and explication revealed that some were actually fallacious, while others were correct for the wrong reasons. Avoiding these common ‘misuse' errors requires sensitivity to their potential, careful planning of the sampling and analysis before data is collected and objective opinions from other academics about analysis plans.
