DASG projects 2009

The Department of Science Education, University of Copenhagen, has during the academic year 2008-09 and autumn 2009 participated in three projects with Danish Science Gymnasiums (DASG, www.dasg.dk).

Participants from DSE: Lene Møller Madsen, Jesper Bruun, Lise Degn, Hanne Lillemose Sørensen and Christine Holm

1. Final evaluation of "Observations of the Earth".

The final evaluation is based on the midway evaluation and responds to the project goals as well as the results achieved.
The DSE staff participates in an "exchange of experience day" in the autumn of 2009 to secure optimal insight in all aspects of the project.
The study is carried through as a desk-study of the materials produced and a web-based questionnaire with follow-up interviews with relevant participants. In addition to the evaluation of the results it is important to describe the potentials of the project.

2. Didactical research on "Moodle/JiTT".

DSE has during spring 2009 followed the project "Moodle/JiTT" where a group of upper secondary school teachers have used the web platform "Moodle" in teaching mathematics and science. The purpose of the research project was to analyse didactical aspects in computer assisted teaching. The focus is on the concrete use of Moodle/JiTT in an academic context alone and together with mathematics, what learning outcomes it produces and what problems to anticipate when introducing and using Moodle/JiTT.

The report includes partly a documentation of the development project "Moodle JiTT" under DASG, where the participants have worked with the e-learning platform Moodle, partly a discussion of the possiblities and limits encountered when using web assignments in teaching. The report will set the problems of the development project into a theoretical frame. The focus will be on feedback, new ways of teaching and the students' and teachers' approach to learning platforms on the web.

3. Evaluation of questionnaire on "Data Collection and Data Processing"

There will be an evaluation of the questionnaire filled out by all participants throughout the three years of the project.
