0H140 - How can we make use of recording and live streaming of teaching?
0H146 - Interdisciplinary courses and programmes – how to deal with the challenges and make coherent activities for learning.
0H154 - Research-based teaching: How to integrate research and teaching in a time of chatbots
They begin at 1 pm and end at 4 pm.
General registrations is will open five weeks before the workshops are held. Registration will close two weeks before the workshops are held or when all workshops have reached maximum capacity. Please note that the workshops will be cancelled if there are too few participants registered.

1: How can we make use of recording and live streaming of teaching? When is it useful, and when is it something we should avoid?
In this workshop, we will discuss the different opportunities for using videos as part of a learning design. We will balance the content between hands-on activities with didactical and technical tips and tricks for producing videos and overall pedagogical considerations. Thus, the workshop intends for the participants to be able to
- differentiate between different video modalities,
- place the use of videos in a pedagogical framework
- obtain basic skills for creating video-based content.

2: Curriculum isn't enough: Entrepreneurial Education as a Way to Find Purpose for Students and Educators
This workshop will introduce the participants to multiple aspects of entrepreneurship education. First, it will straighten out what entrepreneurship is and how it is usually taught in higher education context. Second, it will discuss the different approaches for developing curriculum on innovation & entrepreneurship (I&E) and invite the participants to think what are the relevant elements of I&E for their specific disciplines and contexts. Third, the workshop will emphasise the demand, the purpose, and the efforts required for developing I&E education. The workshop will focus on the role of authenticity in teaching innovation & entrepreneurship and discuss how educators can foster authenticity to find purpose for students and for themselves.

3: Research-based teaching: How to integrate research and teaching in a time of chatbots
Research-based teaching is often described as a key principle of the university. The combination of research and teaching into one institution is what distinguishes the university from other institutions that either do research or teach. But what does this relation between research and teaching actually mean, and how do you translate this into your own teaching practice?
In this workshop, we will discuss the principles and practices of research-based teaching, and the recent UCPH typology of ’research-teaching-integrating’. You will get hands-on experience on how to develop research-based teaching in your field. We will experiment with using the ChatGPT to develop teaching that integrates research, and discuss the advantages and pitfalls of using AI-based language models in the planning and orchestration of research-based teaching.
Note: If you would like to take part in the experiments with the ChatGPT, please set up a (free) account prior to this workshop

4: Interdisciplinary courses and programmes – how to deal with the challenges and make coherent activities for learning.
In the past decades, we have seen a substantial increase in interdisciplinary courses and programmes offered at BSc and MSc level. Meanwhile, less attention has been given to the pedagogical and didactical implications of planning courses and programmes across disciplines.
In this workshop, we will briefly introduce the definitions and current understandings of interdisciplinary teaching and learning. Drawing on cases from participants as well as from our own research, we will then get practical in discussing how to ensure congruence and alignment in interdisciplinary activities - and how to mitigate some of the challenges that arise when the curriculum, the group of students and/or the faculty cut across different disciplines and research fields. The aim of the workshop is thus to provide the participants with tools to plan coherent interdisciplinary activities.

5: Inclusive teaching in the diverse classroom
Students attending higher education are growing increasingly diverse in parameters such as social background, gender and race, as well as more students in cross disciplinary courses, etc. Teachers often struggle to build on this diversity of experiences and expectations, and there is a risk that some students are excluded or unable to engage. In this workshop we will explore and discuss how students with various backgrounds navigate different learning settings, where common problems arise, and what teaching techniques can mitigate these issues.
The main learning objective is for teachers to work with tools that can make their teaching more equitable. In the workshop we will build on existing research on diversity in the classroom and we will present different tools that teachers can work with. We will discuss how different tools might work differently across different courses and teaching settings. By the end of the course each participants will have worked with at least two tools that they can try out in their own teaching.
