An analysis of Faroese types of algebra exercises

Abstract

I will present a quantitative analysis of algebra exercises in the last ten years of final written exams in grade 9 on the Faroe Islands using ATD as an analytic framework.

What types of task are posted? How do the types of tasks differ from year to year? Are there examples of exercises where CAS would be helpful in solving the exercise? How do the techniques for solving the tasks differ from year to year? How will the techniques change if the student could use CAS?
