joins the editorial team as a historian of science and art with a background in philosophy. She is a senior researcher at NL Lab, an interdisciplinary research group within the Humanities Cluster of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) in Amsterdam. Her research interests are the material cultures of medicine and chemistry, in particular in the long eighteenth century, the role of sensory perception in the production of knowledge, and the use of new research methods in the history of science, such as digital and performative methods. Hendriksen's current project, “Epistemologies of Taste,” is funded by a KNAW Early Career Award and a Dutch Research Council Aspasia Premium. It explores how we can understand intersecting historical epistemologies of sensory and aesthetic taste—i. e., how taste was used to acquire and transmit knowledge in the past, and how we can use reconstructions of historical tastes to enhance our understanding of the role of taste in knowledge production. Marieke Hendriksen is also the president of , the Belgian‐Dutch Society for the History of Science and Universities (). Her joining the editorial team will strengthen its expertise on non‐traditional methods in the history of science and help promote the journal outside the German‐speaking world.
