N2 - We present a so-called 'study and research path', designed for advanced high school teaching in the context of a master's thesis project, along with an outline of the mathematical and didactic background. The aim of the paper is to present and discuss an adaptation of Chevallard's 'paradigm of questioning the world' to currently prevailing institutional conditions and in particular to show how mixed mathematics may be revived at a time of crisis, such as the coronavirus outbreak during which the specific design was developed.
